Abbaye Saint-André de Bruges - Zevenkerken 4, - Brugge - Belgium
Flute and piccolo players from more than 20 countries (such as Belgium, The Netherlands, UK, Poland, Slovenia, USA, Singapore, Japan, Australia) meet each other in the inspiring atmosphere of the Monastery School of Zevenkerken near Bruges, known as the Venice of the North and one of the most beautiful and magnificent cities in Europe. The IFSB team welcomes participants from all over the world with all levels of playing from the youngsters on the junior day to advanced students and young professionals and a number of experienced teachers and keen amateurs. The teaching staff with Aldo Baerten, Robert Pot, Blaž Snoj and Peter Verhoyen are assisted by Alexander technique teacher Helga Henckens and course pianists Stefan De Schepper and Pieter-Jan Verhoyen. Each course participant has individual lessons and masterclasses with each teacher. There are warm up and flute ensemble sessions, workshops on different topics, audition training as well as the opportunity to work with one another in smaller groups and perform in the final concerts. Participants can choose to apply for the whole course (with or without lodging) or day tickets for one, two or more days.
